World fair for classic cars: The Techno Classica in Essen, Germany
From 10th to 14th April 2019, the Techno Classica opens its gates for the 31st time in Essen, Germany. It's one of the most important classic car fairs in the world with about 120,000 m² and more than 1,250 exhibitors. Volkswagen Classic Parts is represented this year together with the brands of the Volkswagen Group in the freshly renovated hall 4.
Our booth shows the variety of our spare parts range for classic Volkswagen models: visitors can experience the development of selected parts over the last decades - from a 1950s Beetle up to the Passat W8 from the 2000s. Or in other words: for classics of today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. Connecting "classic" and "digital" world, we start our online voting at the Techno Classica: Which Volkswagen models are already classics today and which ones maybe soon become a classic? Visitors can vote for their favourites live on our booth and decide which models are the stars of the decades from 1950 to 2019.
What, however, would a classic car fair without anniversaries be? In 2019, we celebrate three Volkswagen birthdays with three unique vehicle exhibits: cut-away models of Golf Mk1 convertible and Transporter T3 from the first model year stand for our spare parts range for these two popular classics that celebrate their 40th birthday this year.
The Beetle convertible-variant and its 70th anniversary is not to be forgotten of course: we show the last 1303 Cabriolet from the collection of Volkswagen Osnabrück that was built at the Karmann factory in 1980. It stands simultaneous for our most important project of the year 2019: the reproduction of numerous Beetle body parts together with Volkswagen de Mexico using the reworked original tools. Visitors can take a look at the first results of this project - the rear fenders for the Beetle.
We look forward to your visit! You will find Volkswagen Classic Parts in hall 4, booth number 214.
